GULGONG VETERANS
Gulgong has a long history of supporting Veterans and their families. Gulgong residents collected £244 through the Gulgong Progress Association to build a memorial band rotunda. It was started in 1916, completed in 1917 and dedicated in March 1918. It is telling that Gulgong was caring about the men who went off to war two years before the War to end all wars ended. The Rotunda has plaques of those who served as a memorial of their service and sacrifice (the research was undertaken by the Late Ron Mackie, himself a veteran)
