The Town on the $10 Note

the town on the $10 Note

On the 14th of February 1966 (Valentines Day) Australian currency changed from pounds, shillings and pence to decimal currency.

Prior to this date many people would have never heard of Gulgong. The town was however, chosen to feature on the $10 note along with it’s most famous character Henry Lawson. From that day all Australians became familiar with our beautiful Gold Rush town.
