Prince of Wales Hotel

The Prince of Wales Hotel can be found in the heart of historic Gulgong
within the Mudgee wine district, where it has stood welcoming guests since
the late 1800s. It is one of the oldest buildings in a town renowned for its
ability to make travellers want to pull up and explore the narrow, winding
streets and history of this charming, old gold-mining town.

Once quoted on trip advisor as –  “lovely pub in a quirky ‘back to the
future’ type town. Love the way it’s been preserved from the gold mining
days, even to the horse hitching posts outside the shops! about 25kms from
Mudgee and about 150 years from everywhere else!”

The hotel has been run by the Ellis family since 1976 and they continue to
captivate visitors with the hotels old world charm. The interior of the
hotel has been carefully decorated to reflect the era of a township in its
prime. With old artifacts and memorabilia on the walls, old timber and rusty
tin throughout has an immediate impact as you walk through the door. The
beer garden with its open log fire was constructed by Hackett & his mates,
“nothing measured & nothing straight”. All adding their own unique style of
bush carpentry.

Motel Style Units
Located at the rear of the hotel with ensuite bathrooms, woollen deluxe
queen beds, foxtel TV, microwave, R/C air, tea/coffee, bar fridge, FREE WiFi,
electric blankets. Modern and tastefully decorated rooms with comfort.

Budget Pub Style Rooms
Located within the historic building with R/C air, tea/coffee, bar fridge,
FREE WiFi, electric blankets & TVs. Shared bathroom facilities. Clean and tidy
but very basic accommodation in older style rooms.

Serviced Houses –  available short or long term
89 Mayne Street – A fully restored 1870’s miner’s cottage right in the heart
of Gulgong, comprising of 4 bedrooms. R/C air, Full kitchen facilities,
Modern bathroom, laundry & Limited off street parking.

Casey’s Cottage – A late 19th Century Heritage 2 bedroom cottage located
next door to the hotel in Gulgong’s Mayne Street with R/C air, Kitchenette,
