GULGONG’S 150TH ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND

GULGONG TENNIS CLUB will hold an Old Fashioned Tennis Match with clothing and rackets appropriate to the 1870’s. There will be Old Time Games and a complimentary afternoon tea for all.
SATURDAY 11TH APRIL 2020
10.00am – 4.00pm
RED HILL will be the focus of the day’s events.
All Day: Market Stalls, Jumping Castle, Music, Stage Coach Rides, Trike rides, Food Stalls, Face Painting, Children’s games and more.
Colonial Games – 3 legged races, sack races and egg and spoon races.
1.00pm to 3.00pm
Age races for children and adults. Including “Old Buffers Race” and “Old Boilers Race”
“The Gulgong Gift” A footrace for the more experienced runner.
There will be prizes for all the races and a trophy for the “Gulgong Gift”
3.15pm to 4.00pm
Time Capsule – Locals and visitors will be asked to place goods in the time capsule to be opened in 2045. Items to be no larger than a normal sized envelope or at the discretion of the person accepting the goods being placed.
7.00pm The MAD Society are putting on a performance named “The Roaring Days” at the Prince of Wales Opera House. Tickets $15 available at the Post Office and at the door.
SUNDAY 12th APRIL 2020
7.00pm for 7.30pm Dinner
“THE GRAND COLONIAL BALL” will be held at the Gulgong RSL Club. Tickets on sale now at the RSL Club or by calling Joy on 0418541998 or email email@example.com. Tickets $40 each which includes complimentary champagne on arrival followed by a two course dinner with tea and coffee. Dancing all night to the 70’s and 80’s tunes by “Never 2 Old”. Book early as there are a limited number of tickets.
