An Open Letter to the Residents of Gulgong
We sincerely thank you for your support of the Great Australian Ceramics Festival that will take place in town between April 17th and April 23rd. We particularly thank all the shops who have agreed to be involved in our Shop Window Exhibition Trail.
We are expecting around 500 delegates and visitors to be in town during the week and there are many exhibitions that are open to you, and the public. These include The Best of British Ceramics exhibition that is travelling to Gulgong form the Centre of Contemporary Ceramics in London, the Masters Exhibition, the Delegates Exhibition and an exhibition of works by six New Zealand ceramic artists.
On the evening of the 17th, we have been granted permission to close off a section of Mayne Street to host a welcome party for the delegates of Clay Gulgong 2016. The section of road involved is in front of the Prince of Wales Hotel. We hope this will not cause too much inconvenience and we thank you again for your understanding and support. The street party will run between 6 and 10pm.
A note for your diary is Sunday April 24th when there will be a Potters Market for you to purchase works directly from the potters before they head off.
We are delighted that Gulgong continues to remain at the forefront of national and international ceramics. We know that you will welcome our visitors from (amongst other places) the USA, the Netherlands, Norway, Japan, the UK, NZ, and Denmark – and we are grateful to you for this.
Please visit our website www.claygulgong to find out more about the artists and the program of events. If you have any concerns, please feel free to email us at email@example.com or call #0400 5577 46
On a final note, we are seeking six people who are able to ‘sit’ the exhibitions to ensure the safety of the works. We know it is the school holidays, so perhaps there are Year 11 or 12 students available? We will pay $40 per day and the hours will be from 10am to 5pm Monday – Friday. If you are interested, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
